MEDITATION SPACES

Check out the open reflection and meditation spaces in Geisel Rooms 621 and 628.

 

The Calm Cave and Zen Den are meant to be used as spaces to retreat from studying, relax, pause, breathe deeply, and clear your mind.

 

These spaces incorporates feedback from library users, campus partners, and the Library Student Advisory Council. The collection of books (Calm Cave only) and lounge furniture were selected to help you relax and reflect.

 

 

 

 
WEEKLY COLORING PAGE
 Print and color a new piece for your wall or post it on the Color & Share board in Geisel 2nd Floor East.

PUZZLE PROJECTS

Find printed mazes, sudoku puzzles, and coloring pages while studying at the Library! You can find these items in the Leisure Lounge art/game room in Geisel 1st Floor West. Look for the orange flower sign.

UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE LIBRARY

Join the Library and Recreation for indoor Vinyasa Flow on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Geisel Meeting Room (located on the 1st Floor, East in Geisel Library). 

Offered weekly between Weeks 1-10, these classes are by registration only and free for UC San Diego students and staff with an active Recreation Activity Pass (free for students!). 

Weekly registration is required. Please bring your own yoga mat and props.

Win 24 hours of study room bliss during Finals Week! Take, edit and submit a picture of your favorite Library study spot to enter the contest. 


Do you love lounging in the “egg chairs” on Geisel’s 1st floor, finding a quiet corner at WongAvery, or collaborating with classmates at Audrey’s Cafe? We want to see how you study at the Library!


The winner (and seven friends) will have 24-hour use of Geisel Group Study Room 2096-B (Geisel Library Floor 2 East).

All submitted photos must follow UC San Diego’s Principles of  Community. Photos featuring study spots from Geisel Library and Sally T. WongAvery Library will be accepted. Generative AI tools can't be used to edit photos. Contest open to currently enrolled UC San Diego students.  


*The winner will be contacted by Friday, June 5. 

 
Grad Cap Decorating~!🌺

Calling all graduating Seniors: The Zone is hosting a Grad Cap Decorating event this Wednesday! Come to customize your cap with various art materials to celebrate your unique personality this graduation! All materials will be provided for active UCSD students with a valid student ID.

DE-STRESS WITH PUPS

Need a study break with wagging tails? Therapy animals and their handlers will visit Geisel Library to interact with students. Whether you need a breather between study sessions or a moment of respite from a challenging assignment, certified therapy dogs will be ready to provide a soothing break from your studies.

Join us in Classroom 1 (across from the Service Hub) anytime during the event to relax and de-stress with the dogs. No registration is needed.

 

When: 6/2

Time: 2-3:30 pm

Where: Classroom 1 

(Geisel Library, Main Floor)

 

This event is a collaborative effort with The Zone’s referred partner, Love on a Leash.
