Happy Wednesday, Tritons! Only three more weeks of the quarter. You're almost there! Scroll through the publication for activities to support your mental and physical well-being whenever you need a break. Throughout the quarter, we'll be sharing biweekly tips and activities to help you de-stress and center yourself, regardless of where you are tuning in from.

MY LIBRARY STORY

Share Your Story for a Chance to Win! Whether it's a moment of inspiration, a challenge you overcame, or how the Library has shaped your life, every story matters. Submit your Library Story for a chance to win all day use of a select group study room during Finals Week for you and your friends (you pick the day!).
 
Submissions are accepted May 5-19. The raffle is open to current UC San Diego students only. Winners will be contacted via their UC San Diego email for their preferred date. Scan QR code or visit lib.ucsd.edu/librarystory to submit your story.
 
DE-STRESS WITH PUPS

Take a break with therapy dogs this quarter at the Library. Whether you’re in need of a quick pause between study sessions or a moment to unwind from a tough assignment, certified therapy dogs are here to help you relax. No registration is needed, and masking is optional.

 

Drop by anytime during the event to enjoy some calming time with the dogs.

The Library proudly partners with Love on Leash, a nonprofit organization that brings volunteer pet therapy teams to support student well-being.

Time: 2:30-4 p.m.

 

MEDITATION SPACES

Check out the open reflection and meditation spaces in Geisel Rooms 621 and 628.

 

The Calm Cave and Zen Den are meant to be used as spaces to retreat from studying, relax, pause, breathe deeply, and clear your mind.

 

These spaces incorporates feedback from library users, campus partners, and the Library Student Advisory Council. The collection of books (Calm Cave only) and lounge furniture were selected to help you relax and reflect.

 

 

 

 
YOGA AT THE LIBRARY

Join the Library and Recreation for indoor Vinyasa Flow on Thursdays from 11-12 p.m. in the Geisel Meeting Room located at Geisel Library, 1st Floor East. Offered weekly between Weeks 1-10  these classes are free for students and staff with an active Rec Membership (free for students!). Weekly registration is required.
 
Please bring your own yoga mat and props.
WEEKLY COLORING PAGE
 
Print and color a new piece for your wall or post it on the Color & Share board in Geisel 2nd Floor East.

PUZZLE PROJECTS

Find printed mazes, sudoku puzzles, and coloring pages while studying at the Library! You can find these items in the Leisure Lounge art/game room in Geisel 1st Floor West. Look for the orange flower sign.

JOURNAL DECORATING

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, join the Library and UC San Diego Stationery Club to decorate your own journal while listening to chill beats.

 

Journaling is a proven tool for managing mental health. It can reduce stress, help cope with depression and support problem-solving. Whether journaling was part of your New Year’s resolution or you’re just curious to try it out, this event is a great place to start.

 

This event is co-hosted by the UC San Diego Stationery Club, which aims to share a love of all things stationery. Whether you enjoy notebooks, pens, pencils, fountain pens, note taking, to-do lists, planning, journaling, letter writing, calligraphy, handwriting or paper crafts, this club is for you.

 

Supplies will be provided while they last.

 
When: May 27, 2025
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Where: Classroom 1 (Geisel Library, Main Floor)
 
SNACK PROTEIN BALLS

Ingredients

 

3 cups rolled oats 

1/2 cup vanilla protein powder

1 cup of any nut or seed butter

1/2 cup maple syrup

 

Directions

 

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the oats and protein powder until combined. Add the nut butter and syrup and mix well. Fold in the mix-ins of choice.
2. Lightly wet your hands (or spray them with cooking spray). Form 20-24 small balls of dough. Place on a plate and refrigerate until firm.

POP-UP PEER LISTENING SPACE WITH T2T

Whether you need resources, tips, or just someone to talk to, Triton2Triton's certified peer supporters are here to listen to your concerns and needs and provide on and off-campus resources. Stop by the Leisure Lounge on Wednesdays to de-stress with light crafts and chat with T2T peer supporters.

 

Triton2Triton serves all UC San Diego students who need wellbeing support and guidance, regardless of their background or circumstances. Recognizing that students come from diverse backgrounds and may have different needs and experiences, they are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all.

 

Triton2Triton is also available through their interactive chatline from Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

 

Drop in at any time during the event. Registration is not required.

COMMUNITY CHESS BOARD

A community chess board is located in Geisel 2 East, behind the green jumpsuit. The current chess pieces were a generous donation from a student passionate about chess and the shared game board.
